Late to the party here, but Brookfield Orchards' Apple Dumplings are my all-time favorite. Sadly we moved away from MA in the mid-80s, but with a little help from the Orchards, I can make these and imagine I'm back there:

Brookfield Orchards Apple Dumplings

Cortland apples are a good choice for this recipe according to the people at Brookfield Orchard. These dumplings also freeze well, they say. The recipe is simple: a formula for one dumping.

Preheat oven to 350º F.
Peel and core an apple and place it in the center of a square of puff pastry. Mix a tablespoon of sugar with cinnamon and nutmeg to taste, and pour the mixture into the center hole of the apple. Wrap the pastry around the apple, and place it in a baking pan. Bake for one hour or until the apple is cooked and crust is brown. Serve warm plain or with cheese, ice cream or whipped cream.
Yield: 1 serving

I had actually heard about this recipe and started making them and while searching the internet to see peoples responses I came across this site.

I thought they turned out great (as did everyone else who tried them!)
They're pretty potent but super yummy!

I made them with gummy worms as well as other assortments just for something different.

I would definetely stress to keep them refrigerated!!!
My friend decided to make her own batch for a party after mine were such a hit but the day of the party she took them out of the fridge and by the time of the party the gummy worms/bears had broken into pieces and became very slimy.
